Intro to Outdoor Climbing @ Quartzite Classic

$100.00

Saturday, October 10th, 2026 | 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Are you newer to outdoor climbing? Let us show you the ropes! In addition to getting some experience climbing and rappelling on real rocks you’ll gain a better understanding of how a climbing day “works” and feel more confident contributing to an outdoor climbing team. You’ll walk away having a better sense of the planning and skills required to climb on your own outdoors, to help you move beyond “rookie” to “asset” in any climbing group.

Equipment: Everything is included, but we encourage participants to bring their own gear (harness, helmet, climbing shoes, belay device) if they have it. It will fit better and be more comfortable!

Prerequisites: No prior experience necessary

Note: This course will focus on top-rope climbing. Devil’s Lake is not a sport climbing area; we will not be discussing lead climbing or cleaning anchors in this clinic. If these terms are new to you, please read more about climbing styles here.

***Participants must be registered for the Quartzite Classic Festival to join this course. This course will not run if fewer than 5 students enroll***
