DLCG and FA have developed an exclusive outdoor rock climbing trip opportunity for FA adult members in 2026. These are full-day, outdoor top-rope rock climbing or bouldering trips at Devils Lake State Park, offered exclusively for First Ascent members ages 18+. And yes, camping opportunities are available!
Climbing Day Agenda
DLCG instructors will:
Meet group at the parking lot
Distribute gear and hike to climbing location
Provide instruction on how to properly boulder (spotting, pad placement, problem selection, communication) or top-rope (belay, tying in, communication)
Climb a variety of routes / problems suitable for the groups skill level.
When
7:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Bouldering: 4/11 - 4/12
Top Roping: 5/2 - 5/3
Prerequisites
Some climbing experience preferred, but no prior outdoor experience needed.
Bring
Closed-toed hiking shoes
Backpack (20-30 liters)
Lunch/snacks
2 liters of water
Layers appropriate for the weather
Sunscreen/bug spray
Climbing helmet / harness / shoes / chalk
We can provide climbing gear if needed.
Camping Options
Camping options are available Friday, Saturday, or both evenings at Devils Lake State Park for climbers and their family members for both weekends. Cost is $20/person/night. Be sure to add the option before checking out. Campsite number will be shared upon enrollment. Camping equipment is not included.
Minimum enrollment
Each trip has a minimum enrollment of 10 climbers. If a trip fails to meet this enrollment two weeks prior to the start date, the trip will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.
How to enroll
Do not use Quantity field to sign up multiple people. Add one person to cart at a time!
Select your climbing date from the drop down menu and click “enroll” to enter the participant’s name.
Use the back button to navigate back to this page if adding more climbers or campers. Repeat step 1 for each climber.
Select your camping date from the drop down menu and click “purchase” to enter the camper’s name.
Use the back button to navigate back to this page if adding more climbers or campers.
Once you’ve selected all your options, click the Cart icon to view your cart, confirm your order, and process your payment.
We will then send full confirmation materials via email.
Outdoor rock climbing weekends at Devil’s Lake State Park exclusively for First Ascent adult members age 18+.

Keep the fun going at our group campsite within Devil’s Lake State Park. Campsite is available Friday, Saturday, or both evenings.
Please add each camper to the cart one person at a time. DO NOT USE THE QUANTITY FIELD.
Neither camping equipment nor meals are provided. Campsite information will be shared via email after registration.
