Aileen Kearney
I grew up in Madison, WI nurturing my love for outdoor adventures from a young age. I’ve been camping, hiking, and swimming in Wisconsin’s lakes, forests, and bluffs since before I can remember. This led to a natural curiosity towards climbing, and I began exploring the climbing scene at Devils Lake and Governor Dodge. After that I joined the Boulders Climbing Team where I spent multiple years as a proud ‘comp kid’– and I still love competing today. My first involvement with DLCG was during climbing team trips where I instantly felt welcomed by a team of talented instructors that I’m grateful to now get to work with. Through these experiences I fell in love with the midwest climbing community and knew I wanted to share that with others, first as instructor with the Boulders youth summer camp program and now with DLCG.
Connecting with people has always been central to who I am, both in and out of climbing, where I’ve worked as a classroom teaching assistant and community organizer with March For Our Lives. I’m also a college student so when I’m not climbing you’ll find me studying to become an American Sign Language interpreter!
I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm and love this wonderful sport of climbing with you all!

“Aileen was great in her supportive role. They were attentive to the climbers to keep an eye and focus on safety, while also engaging with everyone individually throughout the day.”
