FAQ

Does this cost anything?

No. This is a FREE event, sponsored by Devils Lake Climbing Guides, Heartwood Tree Company, Alliant Energy, Trees Forever, and the Wisconsin DNR. We are donating our muscle, time and talent to make these parks a better place in years to come.

Where do we meet?

We’re still waiting on exact planting decisions from the Park superintendents. We’ll send everyone who RSVPs an email with exact directions.

What should I bring?

Work clothes, work gloves, water bottle. Heartwood and the state parks will provide shovels and other hand tools. If you have a shovel or two you don’t mind bringing, that always helps!

Who will be there?

Lots of friendly folks excited to make our state parks a greener, shadier place. DLCG, Heartwood, and DNR staff will attend, along with client volunteers interested in pitching in.

Is it okay to leave arrive late or leave early?

Yes. While it’s super helpful to be present for orientation, we’ll help you jump into the action when you arrive. We understand not everyone can attend the entire time.

Are dogs welcome?

No. Due to the large number of people who will be busy moving heavy trees and equipment, we prefer dogs stay home. Thanks!
