Mark Grman

Born and raised in rural southern Wisconsin, I grew up exploring the local forests, lakes, and cornfields in constant search of high adventure. There was nothing more exciting to me than packing a bag full of supplies and heading out! Family road trips out west cemented my love for the mountains, waterways, deserts, and travel. I have always been quite active and loved playing soccer and wrestling in my younger years.

After I graduated high school I started my career as a Chef which led me to traveling the west where I eventually discovered a love for rock climbing. I started mainly bouldering and gym climbing but soon branched out to sport climbing and eventually broadened my knowledge (and equipment) to include traditional climbing all in pursuit of summits. The movement of climbing has always been the main motivating factor for me while the variety of natural settings and landscapes inspires me to travel and explore. My first professionally guided climbing excursion in Hueco Tanks, Texas was a real eye opener for me. I loved the experience of learning about an historic crag from a seasoned veteran and being able to grow into that role now myself at Devils Lake is truly an honor.

If I'm not at the crag or gym you may find me playing disc golf, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, making homemade pizza, or hangin' out strumming the guitar - sometimes all at once!
